Education/Training/Certifications

QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Planning/Logistics) required. PMAC designation is beneficial
  • 1-3 years purchasing/supply chain/ planning experience is preferred
  • Essential skills include; reading, writing, numeracy, attention to detail, customer service, computer proficiency, analytical thinking, multitasking and organizational skills, contract management, superior negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience in production and sales processes as well as inventory planning an asset

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • General office environment; includes significant use of computers and other office equipment, reaching, standing, walking, and extended periods of sitting at a desk. At times, travel both within and outside of the country may be required

Position Requirements

OVERVIEW
The MRP and Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for the coordination of purchases and delivery of supplies and services used within the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare forecasts for all items and maintain the data in Visual MRP system
  • Ensure data integrity in the MRP system
  • Analyze historical trends for buy/resell items to ensure supply chain
  • Ensure materials are purchased in a timely manner in accordance with MRP requirements and planning reports
  • Negotiate cost for materials and services from approved suppliers
  • Purchase non inventory items
  • Maintain purchase order documents and ensure Vendor Invoices conform to the Purchase Order
  • Expedite orders as necessary and maintain date information in Visual
  • Coordinate and attend vendor visits as necessary
  • Assess vendor performance and material in Visual
  • Attend pertinent trade shows as required
  • Contract Logistics for domestic and International freight as required
  • Maintain Logistic costs to ensure cost effective movement of goods
  • Review commercial documents for conformance to Canada and U.S. customs standards and regulations
    Any other duties and tasks as deemed necessary
