Because we work closely with both employers and job seekers, we can get a better understanding of the needs of each. And when it comes to job seekers, we can help them with training, tools, and skills they need.
This means that we take time to vet our talent in order to ensure mutual success for both them and the employers we connect them to.
One example is our popular Helping Youth Prepare for Employment (HYPE) program, which offers youth ages 15-30 a 20-week intensive course on the soft skills they need to kickstart their careers, plus industry-specific training. After they’ve graduated, we pair them with employers who can qualify for a wage subsidy to help offset the costs of onboarding a new employee.
Some of our programs promote formal development, such as the Better Jobs Ontario program which helps fund education retraining programs for in-demand industries. Many of our job seekers have recently graduated with degrees, certifications, and licenses required to work in specialized fields.
We also offer WHMIS, Smart Serve, SafeTalk, and Safe Food Handling training!

Funding Opportunities
Not only are META’s services free to employers, we can help you access financial resources to help grow your business as well!
One of our top programs is the Canada-Ontario Job Grant, which can offer as much as $10,000 to cover the costs of training new or existing staff. The funds are available to make many of the most highly-prized licenses and certifications more affordable — which makes your team more skilled for less!
As mentioned before, some of our programs also provide hourly wage reimbursement for short-term on-the-job training costs when you hire a new employee through META. These include an Apprenticeship Program which offers a $2000 signing bonus.
We can also help with the costs associated with workplace accommodations for workers with disabilities.
