Regional eConsult Service Coordinator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or three-year post-secondary education in Health Administration, Business or relevant discipline combined with project management experience in a dynamic work environment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience managing projects in a healthcare setting considered an asset
  • Administrative experience involving document management, project coordination, and generation of high-quality data analysis and reports
  • Recent experience in a clinical environment would be a significant asset
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s licence
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits, onboards and engages primary care providers and specialist physicians to advance adoption of eConsult services
  • Provides training on relevant platforms in collaboration with program partners (i.e. eConsult Centre of Excellence, OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network), etc.)
  • Develops partnerships with health service agencies across the region to advance eConsult Services
  • Acts as the first point of contact for user queries, addressing issues directly or escalating to the Executive Director, as required
  • Monitors activities and support requests, ensuring prompt follow-up and resolution of issues to maintain high user satisfaction
  • Provides usage analysis for trending, reporting, and identification of needs/gaps
  • Responsible for case assignments and coordination of specialty schedules
  • Develops and implements detailed plans to increase the adoption of eConsult services amongst primary care providers/specialists and develops KPIs (key performance indicators) and targets in consultation with the Executive Director
  • Participates in planning, implementation, and testing activities involved in service enhancements
  • Coordinates related project and working group meetings including scheduling, documenting outcomes and tracking actions
  • Manages all documentation related to the Regional eConsult Service
  • Creates and delivers engaging presentations to stakeholders including primary care and specialists
  • Undertakes additional duties and supports other projects, as assigned

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

DECISION MAKING:

  • Sets priorities based on information and direction from SEAMO’s Executive Director, the eConsult Centre of Excellence and other key stakeholders
  • Responds to inquiries and provides reasonable answers, or a means to find answers if necessary, redirecting inquiries to more senior staff as required
  • Determines options or a range of solutions to problems where clear guidelines may not exist and refers complex problems to the Executive Director for direction
  • Problem-solves and resolve issues related to the Regional eConsult Service, determining when to refer issues to senior staff
  • Makes recommendations regarding the best methods for sharing information

Position Requirements

The Southeastern Ontario Medical Organization (SEAMO) supports the delivery of outstanding healthcare, fosters excellence in research and facilitates the transformation of academic medicine in Southeastern Ontario. Established in 1994, we oversee Ontario’s only comprehensive alternative funding plan in Ontario, supporting 13 departments and over 300 physicians practicing in 30 specialities.

SEAMO played a pivotal role in establishing the eConsult Service in Southeastern Ontario and we continue to serve as the Regional Lead for this essential digital healthcare program.

Reporting to the Executive Director of SEAMO, the Regional eConsult Service Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Engagement and adoption activities for eConsult Services.
  • Working in close collaboration with service delivery partners, the Regional eConsult Service Coordinator provides excellent customer service to clinical professionals across the region.

The aim of eConsult is to improve access to specialty care in Southeastern Ontario
