Human Resources Intern (4 months)

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Currently enrolled in a related diploma/degree program and will be returning to in-class studies upon the completion of the internship.

  • Minimum of 70% or B or 3.0 GPA (Major); 2.7 GPA (Cumulative)

Own transportation to the manufacturing plant needed.  City bus is available 7 days a week and covers most hours of work. Student is responsible for own housing arrangements with some local, pre-screened options / information available.

Position Requirements

The Human Resources Intern will work with HR professionals to provide training system program implementation, administrative and recruitment support. In addition, the Intern will work with the team to organize and coordinate engagement activities/events. Key Responsibilities

  • Help to coordinate Technician Training Program implementation
  • Prepare training manuals and update training data base as part of a digital transformation process for asynchronous learning
  • Develop and document a process flow and how to guide for the ongoing maintenance of this new program
  • Develop any testing or assessment of learning
  • Provide general administrative support for the Human Resources Department, including file maintenance, HRIS updates, etc.
  • Participate in the recruiting process when required; including setting up interviews, conducting interviews, applicant screening
  • Update statistics for Human Resources Metrics, and job descriptions
  • Participate in the development of employee communications and assist with the preparation of plant-wide meetings and other presentations
  • Prepare and update orientation packages and coordinate sessions
  • Assist Team Members in resolving questions and concerns
  • Design, prepare and distribute reports and other communications as required
  • Conduct research on best practices and make recommendations. Review and update policies and procedures as required
  • Assist in brainstorming ideas for special event activities and help to coordinate
