- Familiar with various social media platforms and online outreach.
- Ability to travel for extended periods nationally and/or internationally.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
Position Requirements
Reporting to the Director, Undergraduate Marketing and Communications, the Senior Admission Coordinator (SAC) is responsible for the planning and execution of recruitment activities to market first-year and upper year programs offered at Queen’s international campus at the Bader International Study Centre, Herstmonceux Castle. The Senior Admission Coordinator is directly responsible for recruitment and admission of upper year students for each of the fall, winter and summer terms. In addition, the SAC will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Recruitment Representative – BISC and act as the key resource for Admission Coordinators (AC) and Recruitment Representatives (RR) for the planning and execution of marketing, communication, recruitment and admission activities for first-year and upper-year BISC programs.
This position requires the incumbent to regularly travel and work evenings and weekends and is subject to the Averaging and Travel Time Credit provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and direct her/his own activities and those of the RR-BISC, to ensure a well-qualified applicant pool for all terms and programs at the BISC.
- Assess upper-year applications for admission decisions. Follow-up with applicants to ensure all required documentation is submitted in a timely manner. Act as a resource for AC’s to support first-year admission assessment.
- Coordinate the research and development of an annual plan for marketing first-year and upper-year programs to prospective students. Determine target market(s) based on meeting the strategic enrolment objectives for the BISC and within the context of the overall undergraduate admission strategy.
- Develop specific marketing strategies and tactics that will ultimately persuade students to apply for admission and enrol at the BISC.
- Plan itinerary and events to promote BISC and Queen’s, define measurement criteria for evaluating the success of the activities.
- Prepare specific targeted communications and presentations consistent with Queen’s and Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment strategies.
- Responsible for the training of Recruitment Representative – BISC and Admission Assistants.
- Advise prospective students, parents, study abroad offices regarding admission requirements, program details, financial assistance, and facilitate ongoing liaison for information and support.
- Develop and foster strategic relationships both internal and external to the university, including students, alumni and faculty with the goal of recruiting students with, and through others.
- Actively report to stakeholders at the university regarding the study abroad market.
- Recommend changes to admission policies and practices as necessary to ensure they do not present barriers to attracting students to the BISC.
- Prepare statistical reports and interpret results to evaluate effectiveness of admission and recruitment activities.
- Problem solve and make recommendations based on analysis of reports and data.
