Position Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview clients to obtain case history and background information including employment needs
- Assess clients’ needs, relevant skill strengths and deficits, which may include providing services upon clients’ arrival to Canada
- Assist clients with assessing options and developing plans of action while providing necessary support and assistance, including employment assistance
- Refer clients to community services and assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources including legal, medical, and financial assistance, housing, employment, transportation, assistance with relocating, daycare, advocacy, and other referral services
- Administer practical guidance to assist clients with coping strategies and problem-solving, including assisting with integrating into the local community and providing information about rights and obligations
- Facilitate interpretation and complete translations as a part of connecting clients with other services and agencies
- Provide advice and support to clients encountering immigration-related difficulties and refer to appropriate support services when needed
- Meet with clients to assess progress towards goals, provide support, and discuss challenges
- Assist in evaluating effectiveness of programs by tracking clients’ behavioural changes, responses to interventions, and goal outcomes
- Maintain contact with other social service agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients to provide necessary information and understanding about newcomers’ needs
- Track program statistics for evaluation and research purposes
- After Hours phone coverage 10 days/month in coordination with CEOTIS coordinator.
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Will report to the Executive Director
- After Hours Phone $30.42/week
The first day of employment will be May 31, 2022.

Hourly Wage/Salary: $18.17 per hour
Hours: 25 hours per week
