Education/Training/Certifications
Job Requirements:
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a bachelor’s degree in social work or human service field
- 2+ years of related professional experience
- Prior experience in community development
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred
- Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively and follow through to completion
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; ability to communicate in Ukrainian desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes
- Experience using social media, online meeting tools and other online communication tools
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle to attend community events and meetings
- Able to effectively collaborate with community partners
Working Environment:
- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above-outlined responsibilities
- May require occasional attendance at weekend and/or evening events for which Lieu time is given

Position Requirements
The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the successful integration of displaced persons and other immigrants by leading programming that mobilizes community members who are in partnership with Quinte Immigration Services and Quinte Local Immigration Partnership. They collaborate with QUIS staff to determine needs, coordinate community outreach and umbrella services to build effective relationships, and connect clients with community-based resources.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support QUIS / QLIP in creating and implementing community coordination for the Ukrainian displaced persons and/or other refugee/immigrants, including organizing community members to work with local QLIP partners and collaboratively serve clients
- Conduct agency outreach and follow-up and develop new support opportunities through networking and research
- Manage, coordinate and edit as needed, the database of incoming clients, donations, housing offers and employment offers for Ukrainian displaced persons
- Serve as the primary point of contact at QUIS for local community members and groups, Support the resolution of any issues that may arise
- Coordinate with QUIS staff to ensure timely delivery and documentation of services for displaced families and amplify messaging about QUIS’s work
- Create tools, fact sheets, presentations, and templates to support community outreach and response related to program
- Coordinate updates to QUIS website with Ukraine response information
- Facilitate and/or participate in meetings, forums, and other community outreach opportunities as needed
- Support the coordination of client collaboration and engagement initiatives
Type of Job: Contract, Full Time,
Hourly Wage/Salary: $32.81 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday)
