Projects Coordinator

Education/Training/Certifications

  • This is a Contract Position: 10 months (permanent extension possible pending funding)
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in project management, business or other relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience in outreach, facilitation, public speaking, community education, and project and budget management
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License in good standing and own vehicle and insurance is a requirement (limited travel during Covid)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Experience or involvement with nonprofit work, Indigenous Food Sovereignty or other local/sustainable food movements an asset
  • Knowledge of Rotinonshyón:ni culture and Kanyen’kéha is an asset
  • Commitment to conflict resolution and fostering a positive community atmosphere
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently and delegate tasks
  •  Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform moderate physical labor and outdoor activities
  • Ability to use a computer and familiarity with Microsoft applications, e-mail, Google Drive and social media

Position Requirements

Job Description
The Project Coordinator provides logistical, administrative and communications support to KSSLC and Ratinenhayenthos, as well as planning and coordinating volunteers, programs,
workshops, meetings and events. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

  • Tasks and Responsibilities
    Coordinate programing and workshops in support of the organizational mandate through
    management of timelines, budgets and deliverables
  • Manage KSSLC communications, develop relationships with community stakeholders
  • Ensure filing system is maintained
  • Identify funding sources for programming with Board support
  • Support the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers
  • Maintain KSSLC spaces and ensure the environment is clean and safe
  • Lead program design, support the facilitation of workshops and host community events with support from the Board and other volunteers
  • Prepare Grant and donor reports and implement program evaluation process
  • Create, implement, and track project evaluation tools
  • Support community outreach and consultation sessions as required, attend committee meetings as required
  • Provide support to funding applications as required
  • Other duties as required

Type of Job: Contract, Part-Time,

Hourly Wage/Salary: $18-$24.50 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible
