Education/Training/Certifications
- College or University degree/diploma in the field of child care and family studies with 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
- Certificates of First Aid / CPR and Food Handlers
- Personal Suitability – Â Punctuality, dependability, effective interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgment, reliability, team player, values and ethics
- Experience with Special Needs Children – Children who are deaf or hard of hearing, Children with mental health disabilities, Children with intellectual disabilities, Children with behavioral issues, Children with allergies, Children with asthma, Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or attention deficit disorder, Children with genetic disorder
- Work Setting – Child Care centre in an urban with possibilities of working at our Before and After School Programs in a rural setting and community service providers
- Security and Safety –Â Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Bondable, Vulnerable Sector Check
- Transportation –Â Â Own transportation with valid driver`s licence

Position Requirements
Tasks:
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Develop and implement child – care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Story telling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the development of children
- Engage children in activities by preparing crafts, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms of furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, knowledge of the Child Care Licensing System
- Establish guidelines for behaviour, assess the abilities, interests and needs of children with discussion with staff members, parents of resource consultants
- Establish and maintain  collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
Type of Job: Part-Time,
Hourly Wage/Salary: $18.50 to $20.00 per hour to be negotiated upon experience
Hours: Early morning and day shifts with flexible hours
