The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Completed post-secondary education in Accounting or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in Accounting or related field; preferably in a municipal environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to problem solve with strong attention detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times.
- Proficiency in Financial software (Great Plains, TownSuites, Questica), reporting software (FRx, Management Reporter), and Microsoft Office with a high competency level in Excel.
- Proof of a satisfactory criminal background check.
Position Requirements
Do you have experience with accounting? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment? The County is looking to fill a full-time temporary Accounting Clerk position within our Finance Department for the duration of approximately 10 months.
Reporting to the Manager of Finance/Deputy Treasurer, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for a number of general accounting and financial functions with a strong emphasis on banking, revenue transactions and the integration of several software platforms such as TownSuites, Questica, CityWide Asset Management, Great Plains and Pearl. In addition, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for generating, analyzing and distributing required reports, assisting with budget and year-end working papers, and other special projects.
The current wage range for this position is $29.09 to $30.47 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation as per Band 9 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Please submit your application prior to 4:00pm on September 20, 2022 to careers@pecounty.on.ca.
