How do I qualify?
Problem Solving, Analytical and Decision Making Skills
• You have thorough knowledge of a range of investigative and research techniques
• You have analytical and problem solving skills to gather necessary information to establish case files,
conduct assessments, authenticate supporting documents or reports to substantiate all decisions made
Legislative Knowledge
• You have experience interpreting and complying with legislation, regulations, policies, directives and
procedures
• You have knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to facilitate the exchange
of information with other federal/provincial ministries pursuant to legislation
Organizational Skills
• You have the ability to compile and maintain accurate and complete case files and management information
tools according to established investigative techniques/protocols
• You have organizational skills to prioritize work and complete cases in a timely manner
Oral and Written Communication Skills
• You have demonstrated oral and written communications skills to provide information, explanations and
direction to public and provide clear instructions
• You have the ability to provide interpretation of complex policies and specific document requirement
Position Requirements
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• ensure only eligible residents obtain access to publicly-funded insured health services in Ontario
• resolve complex registration and eligibility issues referred by other government offices and program areas
• research and retrieve information from internal and external sources
• compile and maintain accurate and complete case files and information tools
• analyze and interpret complex information to develop client profiles
• explain registration and eligibility legislation, policies and procedures to clients
• liaise with other government agencies, law enforcement, informants, lawyers, etc.
•provide fair and courteous customer service to all clients
