Qualifications
The Volunteer & Community Liaison shall demonstrate skill and competence in the following areas:
• Diploma/degree in a related Social Services field or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum two years experience.
• Crisis interventon skills. Experience providing on-site and telephone crisis interventon.
• Knowledgeable of community resources within HPELA.
• Proficient organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs, G Suite, and social
media platorms. Basic web design experience is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• First Aid and CPR certficaton (or agree to obtain).
Position Requirements
In keeping with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the organizaron, the Volunteer & Community
Liaison will be responsible for:
• Providing support, informaron, referrals, and crisis intervenron to vicrms of crime and tragedy.
• Monitoring 24-hour emergency line during business hours/when on call (rotaronal with other
staff) and responding on scene if Volunteers are not available.
• Recruirng, training, supervising, and supporrng Volunteers/Placement Students.
• Keeping Volunteer related policies, procedures, resources, and internal documents up to date.
• Maintaining a 24-hour Volunteer schedule and arranging quarterly Volunteer meetings.
• Organizing awards/recogniton ceremonies for Volunteers.
• Collaborating with the E.D. in planning awareness raising/fundraising events in the community.
• Seeking out donatons and researching relevant grants.
• Managing the organizaton’s social media platorms and website.
• Participation in various network committees in the community/sector
