Education/Training/Certifications
- Must hold a Class B Refrigeration Operators Certificate or a 4th Class Engineering certificate from TSSA
- 4+ years of related work experience
- Experience with Freon R507A, R407C and R410A is preferred

Position Requirements
With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada’s largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

The Chief Refrigeration report directly to the maintenance manager and will supervise and execute the deployment of overall leading maintenance practices aligned to production needs. In this role, you will lead a team that executes routine complex activities to maintain and improve capacity utilization and quality standards realized through reliable operations across the facility.
The primary duties would include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise the execution of specific equipment maintenance strategy for each asset involved with containing, controlling or safeguarding a high hazard process
- Implement and monitor methodologies to improve operational effectiveness in compliance with regulatory codes and standards
- Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions
- Lead the integration of contractor partners and equipment providing support to the plant force
- Partner with regional and global leadership to develop area leading practices
- Oversee the development of the operational related budget to track the area progress against the estimate
- Preventive and predictive maintenance of Freon system
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Good communication skills will continuous improvement mind-set
- Experience in a production environment is an asset
- Experience overseeing third party resources to deliver business results
- Knowledge of related tools, process controls and area technology systems
