QUALIFICATIONS
• Post Secondary education or related experience in communications, marketing or public relations
• Proficient in MS Office, graphics, and photo editing software
• Knowledge of current Windows and networking systems, programming, and database management
• Demonstrated understanding of media and the ability to place stories
• Excellent written and verbal communication and personal computing skills required
• Ability to make presentations and speak comfortably to groups of 10 or more a requirement
• Proven ability to multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities
• Patient, detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
• Work well without direct supervision as well as in a team environment

Position Requirements

Purpose
This position will assist the Board of Directors, Executive Officer, Committees, and/or applicable Task Forces to
develop and execute communication strategies which promote QDAR and its REALTOR® Members and provide
those Members with the information they need in a creative and timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to)

1. Communication Activities:
• Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing,
communications program that will enhance the associations image and position within the real estate
community and the general public, and facilitate internal and external printed communications, in
collaboration with the Executive Officer and Public Relations Committee as applicable
• Coordinate media interest in the Association and ensure regular contact with target media and
appropriate response to media requests
• Effectively inform Members of any changes in Association rules and policies, governmental policy,
process, laws etc. through various means
• Continually look for ways to increase quality of resources for members
• Design and create multi-media presentations and slide presentations
• Monitor communications trends
• Work within allotted budget for the Association’s communications expenses
• Maintain a current list of media connections for distribution of materials
• Create press releases relating to REALTOR® value, the industry, or other topical issues
• Collaborate with the creation of all internal publications, including editorial responsibilities
2. Social Media:
• Launch and manage QDAR’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and any other online
social media networks on which QDAR chooses to create a profile
• Create, post, and share content on behalf of QDAR
• Follow approved schedule and process in pushing out content on each QDAR sponsored media network

3. Statistics:
• Assist with compilation of MLS® statistics and press releases both monthly and annually and upload to
QDAR’s public web site and REALTOR Link®
• Create statistical charts and summary sheets for easy comparison (monthly and yearly)
4. Partnership/Sponsorship Program:
• Develop a partnership/sponsorship program
• Solicit and promote the program as well as additional sponsorship opportunities
• Respond to inquiries regarding the program
• Oversee the program to ensure all benefits are provided in an efficient and effective manner

5. General:
• Attend the Annual General Meeting, General Membership Meetings, Election Meeting, and other
Association sponsored meetings to take appropriate photos and draft articles on each event for the
media and/or QDAR as appropriate. Assistance at these meeting may include, tracking registrations,
producing programs, agendas, and minutes for these events, as needed
• Assist the Executive Officer, as required, including researching topics, polling, membership survey’s dataanalysis, charting, etc.
• Assist with set up of meeting rooms, including coffee, for meetings you are involved with; also, be
responsible to help clear away papers and coffee supplies after the meeting
• Assist with special events as required
• Phones and Front Desk duties as backup when required
• Input of data for listings placed on our system
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Officer
6. Back up to all Association positions when required.
