Required Education
- Secondary School Diploma.
Required Experience
- More than 6 months and up to and including 1 year of experience.
- Experience in client and/or customer experience functions considered an asset.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- G Driver’s Licence required.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position Requirements
This position contributes to an efficient, prompt, service-oriented postal department for the University by processing various forms of mail and providing delivery service via campus vehicle. This position processes the mail and provides accurate and timely delivery services across campus via delivery vehicle. This position also tracks department accounts to ensure complete recovery on charge-backs.
Job Knowledge and Requirements
- Basic knowledge of standardized, work procedures, general facts, or the use of simple equipment that is typically acquired through on the job training.
- Provide clear, concise information to others that requires basic courtesy and minimal explanation or interpretation.
- Ability to relay unwelcome information or deal with minor conflicts/complaints.
- Prioritize own work to deliver objectives on time and to meet standards and expectations.
- Follows direction and seeks clarification when required.
- Resolve recurring problems and situations using established procedures and guidelines.
- Bring forward problems, obstacles or challenges to work completion in a timely manner so deadlines continue to be met.
- Awareness of human rights, diversity, equity, Indigenization and inclusion.
- Understand university specific processes and policies to address human rights or equity concerns.
What you will do
- Processes mail and materials as required per carrier, including sorting and separating mail by size, destination, inbound mail, outbound mail, and campus mail.
- Delivers mail and materials across campus efficiently, safely and accurately.
- Operates vehicles with great care, being aware of pedestrians, construction, and traffic.
- Tracks department accounts accurately, ensuring complete recovery on charge-backs.
- Manages accounts in applicable software, which includes creating, deleting, updating information.
- Assists with arranging schedules for the delivery of mail, materials and packages.
- Shows procedures to new team members.
- Responds to requests and queries.
- Identifies issues with equipment or vehicles, and escalates internally or externally as appropriate.
- Uses knowledge of the campus map including road closures and faculty/ office movement.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
