• More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.

Launched just a few years ago, our graduate program in Arts Leadership is thriving. The performance home of the Dan School is the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, a beautiful first-class facility on the shore of Lake Ontario, which contains a magnificent concert hall, a black box studio, a rehearsal hall, a recital hall, as well as range of studios, practice rooms, and classrooms.

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Events Assistant plays an integral role in the end-to-end planning, management, coordination and delivery of non-academic internal and public-facing events at DAN School of Drama and Music, both in-person and virtual. Working closely with the Production Coordinator, the Events Assistant is responsible for supporting internal and external relations, coordinating on-campus production needs and collaborates with the Marketing Coordinator to ensure that all events are promoted in a timely manner. This position assists the Department Manager with event revenue and expense tracking, processing and reconciliation.

This position provides events planning support including logistics, booking venue, catering, participant registrations, and video and photography. This position creates and maintains a speaker database. This position reviews and prices client proposals. This position provides post-event coordination including outreach via online surveys, collecting and tracking data including participation, sharing photos and videos, and preparing post-event analysis reports to stakeholders. This position also provides guidance and coordinates workflow of casuals, volunteers and/or student staff.

DUTIES:
• Acts as the first point of contact for events planning.
• Provides event support including logistics planning, booking venue, catering, participant registrations, video and photography, and assistance with travel, accommodation, and special needs arrangements.
• Creates and maintains a speaker database.
• Reviews and prices client proposals.
• Develops, creates, updates and distributes communications and marketing material for events.
• Provides post-event coordination including outreach via online surveys, collecting and tracking data including participation, sharing photos and videos, and preparing post-event analysis reports to stakeholders.
• Performs accounting and bookkeeping activities including monitoring account expenditures, contracts and budgets, and preparing expense requisitions for reimbursement.
• Provides guidance and coordinates workflow of casuals, volunteers and/or student staff.
• Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
