Education/Training/Certifications

Competencies

  • Experience in bookkeeping in a non-profit environment would be considered a strong asset
  • An understanding of accounting practices and principles for nonprofit organizations would be a strong asset
  • Experience using technology and software, including excel, outlook, word, PayDirt and Sage50
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience handling sensitive information with demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • An understanding of, and exposure to, the developmental sector is a strong asset

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education related to finance/accounting
  • Submission of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
  • Minimum of 6 months of financial experience
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Current First Aid and CPR

Position Requirements

Position summary – This position will provide support to the Finance Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with revenue, including: bank deposits, reconciliations, and invoicing
  • Assisting with payables and disbursements, including: remittances, invoice payment for regular expenses, individualized funding, and trusteeships
  • Assisting with payroll, including data entry and filing
  • Updating and maintaining spreadsheets
  •  Generating reports, and posting journal entries
  • Assisting with year-end processes and audit preparation

Type of Job: Part-Time,

Hourly Wage/Salary: To be discussed

Hours: Up to 30 hours in a 2 week pay period
