Eligibility Requirements
Due to grant funding requirements, the candidate must be:

  • Eligible to legally work in Canada
  • Between 16 and 30 years old at the start of the employment
  • Currently a full-time student, and
  • Returning to full-time study in the semester following the work experience

Additionally, the candidate must:

  • Submit a clear Police Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Submit proof of vaccination

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be fluent in speaking and writing French *required*
  • Be fluent in speaking and writing English
  • Have interest and experience in children’s programming and enjoy working with young children aged 4-11 and teens aged 15-18
  • Organizing teen volunteers
  • Possess coding or digital media skills
  • Pay attention to detail and have a high degree of accuracy

Position Requirements

Position Summary

The Ajax Public Library is currently recruiting one (1) candidate for the position of French Summer Reading Club Assistant (Full-Time/temporary). Under the direction of the Coordinator of Community Engagement, the French Summer Reading Club Assistant will assist with the implementation of the French Summer Reading Program including program planning, teen volunteer recruitment, and outreach activities to the community and other duties as assigned.

35 hours/week for 13 weeks

Start Date: May 30, 2022
End Date: August 27, 2022

Hourly Wage/Salary: $16.25 per hour
