Full Time Herds Person / Milker

- No formal education is required but farm, milking, or animal experience would be an asset
- Must have a positive attitude, attention to detail a willingness to learn, and reliable
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Employers will be at the barn to help the successful candidate learn what and how to do things on the farm
- Additional reasonability may be given based on the candidate’s willingness to learn and abilities
Position Requirements
A family-owned and operated dairy farm just east of Campbellford near Hoards Station has an opening for a reliable, hardworking, dependable, self-starting, individual for either a semi full-time or part-time position. Experience is preferred but not required, so long as the candidate is motivated to learn and pays attention to detail.
General duties may include but are not limited to:
- Milking in a tie stall barn
- Calf feeding
- Monitoring and care of animals
- Cleaning stalls
- General farm clean-up
- Tractor work (if experienced)
- Other general farm tasks as needed (indoors and outdoors)
Work conditions:
- Mainly physical work
- On your feet for most of the day
- Some repetitive tasks
Work schedule to be determined; Semi full-time position would average 30- 35 hours/ week but could be more seasonally based on the individual’s experience operating heavy equipment, and willingness to work more
Most major holidays off and we are willing to accommodate the right candidate’s schedule
Type of Job: Full Time,
Hourly Wage/Salary: Starts at $17.00 per hour, 30-day probationary period payroll deductions starting after 30 days, also based on level of experience
Hours: 30-35 hours per week
