Education/Training/Certifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience or 2000 hours on the job as Quality Team Leader
  • If performing Energy inspection, the individual should have steel, oil, natural gas, and energy background

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrates ability to use written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people including proficiency in using a telephone/cellphone
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and sort paperwork, documents, and other computer-based information
  • Demonstrates ability to photocopy and print various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues
  • Demonstrates ability to Manipulate statistical data
  • Knowledge of PC software applications including Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and seeks knowledge of Company Software i.e., Qnet
  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and is able to use and verify calibration of inspection tools
  • Requires a minimal level of supervision

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit for extended Able to be mobile throughout Team Quality Services facilities and customer locations
  • Ability to work with and around others, up to 2/3 of work period
  • Ability to lift or push a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Bending, twisting, and squatting
  • Demonstrates dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a scanner, computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components and software

Position Requirements

  • Run the job site and coordinate projects with the Inspection department
  • Approaches incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specification; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor
  • Approve finished product by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work, confirming re-work
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environments by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Set-up the projects and establish project workflow; organize personnel for inspection
  • Ensure all required tools and supplies for the project are on-site
  • Perform on the job training
  • Direct and manage work crews as stated within the work instructions
  • Prepare, review, and submit necessary paperwork associated with the project
  • Schedule project crews for subsequent projects and assignments as needed
  • Communicate any changes in project procedure and/or project requirements to the Inspection/Energy department as well as the corporate office
  • Assist project crews on new procedures and project requirements
  • Act as primary contact on the job site for customer and other personnel, including but not limited to progress, concerns, and potential issues
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications and authorizations as required
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Serves as a role model in displaying initiative and assertiveness with positive problem-solving techniques and willingly performs non-assigned duties as needed
  • Maintain working knowledge of TQS policies and procedures
  • Maintain a professional and Ethical work environment/behavior
  • Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
  • Review Specs
  • Travel as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Duties:

  • Managing Inspection Associates established on his/her team
  • Suggest recommendations for recommendations and promotions for associates
