School Support Worker

Education/Training/Certifications
- Intermediate oral proficiency of Kanyen’kéha is preferred; basic knowledge and daily
usage is required - Completion of OSSD or equivalent required
- Post secondary in human services field including Early Childhood Education, Youth Worker, Educational Assistant preferred
- 2 years previous experience working with children
- Combination of education and experience will be considered
- Patience, creativity and love for children
- Ability to work and play outside in all types of weather
- Willingness to undertake additional training as required
- Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening Certificate as a condition of employment
Position Requirements
- Support the Educators as directed, in indoor and outdoor activities
- Supervision of children, indoors, outdoors and on field trips
- Use Kanyen’kéha during interactions with the children/staff (support will be provided
- Assist with breakfast/lunch programs
- Daily cleaning including sanitizing supplies, bathrooms, equipment, and high traffic areas
- Know and observe school policies and regulations
- Role model and encourage positive and respectful interactions
- Other duties as assigned
