REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

  • A University degree (Queen’s preferred)
  • Experience in training and staff development; experience in a supervisory capacity is an asset
  • Experience researching, developing, and implementing targeted plans

  • Experience promoting and executing special events
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s license required
  • Experience with Queen’s University and the programs offered a strong asset
  • Marketing or public relations background or previous admission experience an asset
  • Familiar and comfortable with various social media platforms and online outreach
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reporting to the Director, Domestic Undergraduate Enrolment, a Senior Admission Coordinator (Senior AC) is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of a team of Admission Coordinators (AC).  In addition to holding an admission portfolio of their own, the Senior AC will support and assist in the training of Admission & Recruitment Assistants and Recruitment Representatives in the admission and recruitment processes and procedures, while also providing direction and guidance on a day-to-day basis.  The incumbent will act as the key resource for the AC’s and a liaison with the Management team while overseeing the planning and execution of marketing, communication, recruitment and admission activities for all undergraduate programs for specific regions and/or functions.

The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends and also includes travel, domestically and internationally. This position is subject to the Averaging and Travel Time Credit Provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and direct own activities and those of Admission Coordinators, to help ensure a well qualified applicant pool for direct-entry programs at Queen’s.
  • Review and coordinate application procedures.
  • Support software integration and operations (i.e. complete user acceptance testing (UAT)).
  • Enhance efficiency and functionality to ensure the delivery of service quality, data integrity, and data availability.
  • Coordinate the research and development of an annual plan for marketing undergraduate programs to potential students.
  • Develop specific marketing strategies and tactics suited to specific target audiences/groups that will ultimately persuade prospective students to apply for admission and to register at Queen’s.
  • Prepare statistical reports and analysis for the assigned portfolio. Make recommendations based on analysis of reports and data.
  • Establish itinerary and events to promote Queen’s, build relationships, and define measurement criteria for evaluating marketing plan and its execution.
  • Liaise with UAR Marketing & Communications team to prepare specific targeted communications and presentations consistent with Queen’s and the Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment communication strategy.
  • Support the training of new Admission Coordinators, Recruitment Representatives and Admission & Recruitment Assistants.
  • Provide work direction, and technical/functional guidance to Admission Coordinators, Recruitment Representatives, and Admission & Recruitment Assistants.
  • Act as a resource for AC’s to evaluate applications for admission.
  • Review and update UAR policies and procedures on a cyclical basis to ensure equity and access.
  • Develop and foster strategic relationships both internal and external to the University, including students and alumni and community groups, with the goal of recruiting students with and through others.
  • Other duties as required in support of Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment

  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
