Education/Training/Certifications
- Secondary School Graduation, and a minimum one year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Sciences (Personal Support Worker or equivalent). Proof of education is a condition of employment.
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Valid G class driver’s license
Position Requirements
Pathways to Independence requires two (2) Support Worker, Dual Diagnosis to provide assisted living support for adults to all locations within the WEB. Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker supports adults living with a dual diagnosis with activities of daily living such as homemaking, personal care, community and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s individual service plan. The Support Worker will implement established strategies and behaviour management plans under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor. The Support Worker ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, and independence, and builds personal and community living skills.
Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities, which includes:
- Demonstrate a person centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission and guiding principles
- Experience working with adults with a developmental disability in a community based, group living or independent living environment
- Provide effective services and supports to supported persons
- Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation
- Participate in and ensure a positive team environment
- The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Please note that transfer requests from successful candidates will not be considered for 12 months.
Type of Job: Part-Time,
Hourly Wage/Salary: $19.48-$20.83 per hour
Hours: Guaranteed between 48 – 70 hrs each pay period. Schedules may vary each pay period.
