Education/Training/Certifications
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a field relating to disabilities or human services is an asset
- Experience working with people with a developmental disability
- Experience in program planning, and facilitation
- Clean criminal record check including vulnerable sector screening
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- A valid G class driver’s licence, a clean driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, 6a endorsement, and $1,000,000 liability
coverage - Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

- Ability to think critically and engage in proactive problem solving
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple focuses

Position Requirements
Position summary- The Community Connection Facilitator focuses on supporting people with developmental disabilities to become active members of their community. The Child and Family Facilitator links children and their families to supports and resources, as well as facilitates opportunity for community connections and recreational activities.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Support individuals to participate in community events and develop socially valued roles in their community
- Plan and facilitate group activities
- Providing direct support to individuals, being responsive to individual needs with a person-centered focus
- Participating in planning and supporting individuals to attain their goals
- Provide virtual learning, recreational and other opportunities
- Support individuals’ awareness of community services and assist with accessing those services
- Perform administrative tasks including recording documentation and collecting data
- Attend, lead, and actively participate in meetings while promoting open communication at all levels
Contract until July 10, 2022

Hourly Wage/Salary: To be determined
Hours: Up to 75 hours (combined) in a 2-week pay period
